Gallup polls continue to place [illegal] immigration as the top American issue in 2024 with headlines like Immigration-named-top-problem-third-straight-month.aspx.
Why would it be top of the list when the mainstream media continues to push the narrative that the border is not open and there is no problem?
What do angel families think about illegal immigration? They learned the hard way that diversity is not strength.
America is a nation of immigrants and much has been written about America's history of immigration as well as native migratory history. A hundred years ago, with little to no government support, immigrants wanted to come legally and assimilate. There was no “press 1 for English,” since the assumption was to learn the language of your host country to get a legal job, study for the citizenship test and become an American. They waited patiently, suffered, scrimped and saved to earn a place in the “land of the free” so they could watch their next generation thrive better than they had.
According to the CDC, America is below the 2.1 birth rate replacement level so we are told we need [legal] immigration. And America claims some remarkable legal immigrants like 1st -gen Elon Musk or 2nd – gen Vivek Ramaswamy, who cut their teeth when America was still a meritocracy.
But, when more Americans are putting essentials like groceries on credit cards, who wants to share their crumbs with those who cross our border illegally? Immigrants who cross our border illegally care little for America’s current laws that clearly define where the boundary is and define what an illegal alien is. [Although there is no doubt that it’s no fun being an illegal alien.]
Naturally, in times of anxiety, uncontrolled illegal immigration will take precedence over other serious issues, like the silent coup d’état that no one dares talk about that happened a week after a failed assassination attempt of a presidential candidate or that it is only too apparent that the current President does not run this country. Americans are living in unprecedented times, including the highest rates of immigration EVER (and mostly from 3rd world countries) and the mainstream media refuses to discuss the problems that come from unsustainable illegal immigration.
Back in 2005, candidates from all parties accepted national borders as a rule of law. So, what happened to change that mindset?
According to the Center for Immigration Studies, “The current scale of immigration (legal and illegal) into the United States is without any precedent in the nation’s history. In March 2024 the foreign-born population reached 51.6 million, 5.1 million more than in March 2022 — the largest two-year increase ever recorded in American History.”
And, without knowing who is crossing our borders, it is any wonder that crime, drugs and human trafficking have increased dramatically with a porous border? How do we not know whether terrorists have crossed our border, undetected? According to Texas Public Policy Foundation, “The true number is likely much larger and impossible to determine. In fiscal year 2021, there were nearly 2 million migrant apprehensions along the 2/3 U.S.-Mexico border, and that number only accounts for the people encountered by border agents. More than 400,000 more migrants eluded apprehension and are counted among the “got-aways.” Last year also met another unfortunate record—147,000 unaccompanied migrant children entered the U.S., 122,000 were taken into the U.S. custody, the previous record being 69,000.” Today, unaccompanied minors often become wards of Office of Refugee Resettlement.
In March 2021, Texas had enough of uncontrolled immigration and started Operation Lone Star to defend her borders. Texas spent 11 billion dollars to protect her border with Mexico and the operation worked so well that those crossing the border illegally are now crossing over in other border states. The Biden Administration filed a complaint against Texas in July 2023 and fortunately, in March 2024, the US Supreme Court ALLOWED Texas to protect her border. Just another day in upside down world where a corrupt federal power tries to usurp the wellbeing of a state protecting itself.
We hear cries that "No human being is illegal" especially from "stolen lands" but we also hear how America is a systemically racist society. Yet, it is people of color crossing the border every day. Why do too many people not question that nonsensical narrative?
If Natural Law and the Laws of the Universe make sense, then some might deduce that since everyone is born free via Natural Law, why should there be national borders?
By the mentality that everyone is born free, and borders should not exist, then no one should lock their doors to prevent intruders from walking into their homes or have fences protecting their homes if we are all free to go and do what we want. Kamala Harris owns several homes, including her 3,500 square foot multi-million dollar home in the exclusive neighborhood of Brentwood, CA, so if she truly believes illegal border crossing is not a crime, why would she not invite the needy, homeless immigrants in California to live in her home? She certainly has the space. But it is her space, her border, her boundary. We all know that without boundaries, anything goes and that can go bad quickly. We strive to maintain personal boundaries, and when we don’t, someone will suffer the consequences.
And, what if where we are born involves our evolution as humans and how we function in society, according to the metaphysical idea of soul levels as discussed in Do You Want to Live in the Happiest Country? If this theory is correct, then the last thing America, as young soul country, needs is to go backwards to accommodate infant souls, since infant souls are born into third world countries to learn how to survive and are not yet ready to tackle living in more advanced, civilized societies. Different cultures and different customs do not align well for the host country if the new immigrant refuses to assimilate.
And what about all those tired and poor immigrants who Legally waited in line, who paid a lot of money to process their applications, who learned English, who worked hard for years and passed the citizen test in English because they were so appreciative of the idea that they took could partake in the American dream – to create our own version of happiness? How do they feel about illegal immigrants butting in line? Ask a legal immigrant, and you may hear what I’ve heard: it’s not fair!
At some point, assimilation became a bad word. Why? Immigrants coming to America once represented and understood what America’s motto - E Pluribus Unum - meant. One people, one culture, one language so we can all communicate and understand each other and hopefully get along. Today, we are told that assimilation is about losing one's culture.
Considering what American culture has evolved into, as echoed in RFK Jr.'s withdrawal speech, one might understand that American culture is hardly the gold standard anymore. Then why are so many immigrants still crossing the border illegally? Obviously, the demand continues, so we can assume America still offers promise from the crumbling countries they are leaving. But rather than E Pluribus Unum and work hard, the mantra today is America is systemically racist (Oppressor/Oppressed), assimilation is bad, and dependency on the government should be expected.
According to the Center for Immigration Studies:
· If present trends continue, the foreign-born population will reach 62.5 million in 2030 and 82.2 million by 2040 — larger than the current combined populations of 30 states plus the District of Columbia.
· Many observers think of immigrants solely as workers, but only 46 percent of the foreign-born who arrived in 2022 or later were employed in the first part of 2024 — similar to the share of new arrivals employed during previous economic expansions.
· As in any human population, many newly arrived immigrants are children, elderly, disabled, caregivers, or others with no ability to work or interest in doing so.
· Only about 8 percent of the 2.5 million new arrivals who are not working say they are actively looking for work.
Call me a xenophobe, but uncontrolled immigration with immigrants who will not assimilate is clearly a recipe for disaster and unless we change course quickly, [illegal] immigration might be the final nail in America’s coffin.
Common sense dictates that “no borders’ means no country! Thank you for the article.
Dare I suggest that many of the illegals entering the US are looking to get away from the oppression of the countries they fled. BUT once here, they engage in the exact same behaviors that put those oppressive governments in place THERE. They change location, but not the WAY they live.
I too know a number of people who came into this country the LEGAL way. They are disgusted by the current administration and their allowing MILLIIONS to flood into the country unchecked. My friends have gone through MANY MANY hoops to be here and to become citizens. They are PRODUCTIVE and ACTIVE members of their communities. They work HARD to contribute and they LEARNED ENGLISH to be able to take the Oat, IN ENGLISH, when they DO become citizens.
As for the "stollen lands" thing.... I know several NATIVE AMERICANS who believe they were basically conquered by another "tribe". It was the tribe of 'white men', but they were conquered none the less. They would have been either KILLED or brought into the dominating tribe. Or simply driven away to fend for themselves elsewhere. These are the ideas of OTHERS, I tend to agree with them, to an extent. I do believe the natives of this land took a knife to a gun fight in a manner of speaking. They were greatly out matched overall. Yet, in the end, it was the dominant force which won.
Great article! Thank you for putting a number of my own thoughts in writing.
