A Modest Proposal When The War Drums Start Banging
Warning: This article might “trigger” cognitive dissonance for some conservatives.
It’s coming. You can hear the war drums banging. The deep state wants war.
Headlines keep appearing, like:
“Pentagon puts 8,500 troops on 'heightened alert' as U.S. weighs military action against Russia”
“Why China-Taiwan Relations Are So Tense”
“China has launched new drills encircling Taiwan. Why now?”
“Ukraine war: Leak shows Western special forces on the ground.”
Only a real nazi could sum it up:
The war profiteers have money to make. And, how else can they cover up the unsustainable and growing 34+ trillion dollars debt that is ready to blow up the economy further? America needs to fund the war for “Freedom.” What Freedom? We don’t have Freedom anymore!
And No, America is NOT going to war Again unless her borders are invaded (ok they are being invaded, and why are we letting that happen?) Texas had enough and started Operation Lone Star to defend her borders and the Biden Administration sued Texas for doing the job it should have done! It took the US Supreme Court to ALLOW Texas to defend her border! No one would dare call that treason?
How many more examples do we need to prove that America is a FAILED state? We the People (WTP) can say NO MORE to another forever war that is none of our business! America’s mingling in other countries’ affairs is like the mother in a dysfunctional family volunteering to save everyone else except for the people who need her the most – her family!
WTP must insist that America is not going to fight on foreign soil, Ever Again, because we know how that ends: Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq. How many more examples do we need? At what point do we learn from our mistakes? Never Again. Was the Revolutionary War fought for naught?
Can we finally learn from our many mistakes? If so, how do we do that? WTP Take the Power Back!
How about going back to the drawing board (Article V Convention of States?) and revise the Articles of the Confederation (aka the former Constitution) but with the Bill of Rights, Civil Rights, and putting the money supply back to gold, just for starters and then we can negotiate the dissolution of the federal government which means dissect the Constitution? Ouch. Nu-uh. Say what?
No executive or judiciary branch, just like in the Articles of the Confederation - Articles II & III - deleted. Article I will eventually transition back to the states.
Hear me out. I Love America. I love being the Heir of the American Experiment and appreciate our wise founding fathers and the ideal of the Constitution, but We the People (WTP) did not keep the Republic. Ben warned us, “A Republic…if you can keep it.” We did not keep it. We are not free anymore because WTP allowed politicians to crumble up the Constitution and disregard federalism. We can argue which generation started the squandering, but what difference does that make? Nothing – wasted energy.
It will not be easy, and it is certainly doubtful that it will be fully achieved in a generation, but the (peaceful?) transition towards real federalism could begin for the next generation to figure out.
We the People failed to keep the Republic because we did not listen to our wise ancestors, the Anti-Federalists. Without them, we would have no Bill of Rights which was the most important part of the Constitution and the Federalists[1] argued that a Bill of Rights was not necessary. It was necessary and they were WRONG!
The “Anti-Federalists” did try to warn us through The-Anti-Federalist-Papers. Perhaps we should review those documents again and look to the Anti-Federalists for wisdom out of this mess? They gave us the Bill of Rights! We owe them that incredibly prescient wisdom. They warned us to Keep Government Closer to the People. Once the central power is far away and out of sight, we cannot keep an eye on it. When most of the people who are attracted to being politicians are sociopathic/ narcissistic megalomaniacs, how could a federal government not become corrupt? WTP must keep a watchful eye on all of them! Federalism won’t end corruption, but at least it will keep the government closer to WTP.
Washington’s chief concerns about not having a national government resulted from the lack of states making decisions promptly and having little to no funds to fight the Revolutionary war without a common currency, and some states didn’t “pony” up. We can figure out the national problems, united as states, without having a national government.
How many generations does it take for that rare shining star, a Philosopher King like Marcus Aurelius to make an entrance to lead us out of disaster? It is doubtful we will see that anytime soon. It will not come from the crowned clown, and now politically persecuted presidential candidate, Donald Trump. The deep state won’t allow the power to be transferred again. And the likelihood that it would not be peaceful if he loses another “rigged” election could prove violent.
So, why not ditch the Executive and the Judiciary branches completely, just like in the original Articles of the Confederation? Think about it: no federal elections! No corrupt, activist judges for life on the bench! Gone. No Executive agencies – No IRS! No federal welfare! Let the states settle their own affairs in their own courts.
So said John Adams before the ink was barely dry on the Bill of Rights (1791) when he signed the unconstitutional Alien and Sedition Act of 1798 and the Adams administration started locking up “democratic republican” publishers who supported Thomas Jefferson and who criticized John Adams. Fortunately for America, Jefferson won the election of 1800. Human nature is and always will be corrupt. How quickly it all can change…and from a “good man” like John Adams in 1798!
Let’s face it; just like we cannot unsee a bad event, we cannot roll back the federal government. Anything is possible? No, it is not going to happen, and everyone knows it. The Department of Education is low hanging fruit to begin the dismantling of the federal government, but the eyeroll at the end of this article, Government Too Big Will Fail, Part II should say it all; it’s simply not going to happen because the Legislative branch is corrupt and the deep state is TOO big and powerful. So, let’s cut off the head of the monster instead!
The original Articles of the Confederation only had delegates representing the states as a Congress. We do not need any more laws from the US Congress. Any new laws needed can be deferred back to the states, and national defense can fall under a newly revised Articles of the Confederation.
Of course, the devil is in the details, and this should take place with careful consideration that the transition will be gradual with enough planning to dismantle the federal beast back to a newly revised Articles of the Confederation to spell out national issues like national defense. Laborious details will include plans like phasing out federal department/agencies/jobs and the contracted apparatuses around them, the federal pension funds, social security, the corrupt banking system (ending the private banking cartel, the Federal Reserve), the corrupt federal police agencies, etc. Federal workers and federal welfare recipients will get six months to figure it out?
Imagine no federal government.
It’s easy if you try.
No federal hell around us,
Above us only a pie in the sky?
It would end federal elections – no Presidential or Congressional elections, no revolving door for corrupt lobbyists, no more corrupt federal judges, no corrupt deep state bureaucrats, and all the trauma/scandals/lies that go along with it. No more dependency on the federal government!!! No more forever wars!!! And, it just might divert another civil war as well!
Oh, sure, there will be scandals and corruption at the state level but since the government will be closer to the people, and there will be no distractions with the federal government, the people can keep a closer eye on their state (and local) governments.
Ironically enough, an argument that James Madison made for the Constitution in Federalist #51.pdf – that men are no angels, therefore WTP need government - is the same argument that current market anarchists/anarcho capitalists make for having no government – that men are no angels and all government will become corrupt because of that. Yes, I agree, but isn’t anarchy as extreme as totalitarianism? Can we meet somewhere in the limited government middle? The states adopted the wisdom of the separation of powers and the Bill of Rights to mirror the US Constitution in their own Constitutions. And maybe there would be some states that want to try market anarchism. With federalism as the form of government, it could be explored starting from a much smaller scale. That would be up to the next generations and the individual states to figure out.
As we get ready to celebrate the 4th of July, the Declaration of Our Independence, in less than a month, we should enjoy ourselves as life is short. Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we may die.
But, can we also ponder on the fact that although America is no longer free, we can do something about it. WTP did it nearly 250 years ago; WTP can do it again!
[1] The so-called Anti Federalists were the real Federalists, and the so-called Federalists were really Nationalists in late 18th Century Newspeak.
We have billions of barrels of oil that could be used to pay down the debt. Our military pays for a ridiculous amounts of expensive military technology with a good portion being wasted and non functional weapons. Too many agencies wasting money.
The MAJOR reason we have any of these issues going on is because...https://www.courageouslion.us/p/problem-psychopathic-control-freaks
